John Nanni          

District 7630 PolioPlus Chair
Rotary Club of Middletown-Odessa

 

John has been active in leadership roles in his club, having served as Club Secretary, Website Committee Chair and District PolioPlus Committees and is his Club’s President Nominee for 2019-20.

John has given over 150 Polio Talks to Rotary Clubs, District Assemblies, District Conferences, RYLA, Rotaract and Interact Clubs and Zone Training Seminars from Rhode Island to North Carolina….

  • USA Coordinator for the “World’s Greatest Meal to Help End Polio Now”

John is the recipient of Rotary’s Regional Service Award for a Polio Free World and is the USA Coordinator for the “World’s Greatest Meal to Help End Polio”.

A graduate of State University of New York at Delhi (pronounced Dell High).

John is the:

  • Board member of State of Delaware Architectural Accessibility Board
  • Board Member of the Polio Network of NJ/DE, a polio survivor support group
  • Platelet Donor:  259+ donations (= 32+ Gallons)
  • Volunteer driver for MOT Meals on Wheels
  • Former Founder & Owner of Paper And Ribbon Supply Company, Cherry Hill, NJ
  • Former Board member of 6 different non-profit art organizations 
  • 800+ Volunteer hours each year in 2015 & 2016 & 2017
  • Accessibility Advocate for all.

John is a polio survivor (Class of 1953), paralyzed from his neck down for 6 months just prior to the Salk Vaccine distribution.  He now uses a wheelchair for most of his daily mobility due to severe Post-Polio Syndrome issues.

John and his wife, Christine, live in Middletown, DE and are professional singers with “Rhapsody in 2” Duet Cabaret Act; mainly singing Broadway Showtunes.  John has two adopted children, Allison and Adam, from South Korea.
